Twenty-six years after the founding of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, 14 women from 9 different communities in Essex and Union counties came together to form Beta Alpha Omega Chapter of the Notable North Atlantic Region, serving Hillside, Irvington and Newark

Since 1934, the women of Beta Alpha Omega have served the state of New Jersey, by providing hundreds of thousands in annual scholarships to high school seniors, and programs focused on mentoring, civic engagement, and health and wellness awareness.
