Message from the President
Welcome to the official website of Beta Alpha Omega, the Mother Pearl of New Jersey! We are the first chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in the state of New Jersey.
Beta Alpha Omega was chartered on January 30, 1934, by 14 dynamic and forward-thinking visionaries. Standing proudly with them was our 4th International President, Pauline Puryear. Today, Beta Alpha Omega continues to move “Onward Together”, building upon this great legacy, while remaining passionately committed to uplifting the lives and futures of residents in the communities of Newark, Irvington, and Hillside.
Under the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, and our North Atlantic Regional Director, Elicia Pegues Spearman Esq., Beta Alpha Omega is “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood”, as we lead on the front lines of change, education, and advocacy.
We invite you to explore our website and learn more about our history, members, leadership, and program initiatives. Come out and join us for our activities and events.
